Demand Justice For These Hardworking New Nurses That Struggle To Gain Registration With AHPRA!

Thousands of nursing graduates are unable to find work in Australian hospitals, according to the nurses' union. Finding employment is the biggest hurdle for nursing's new graduates and acquiring registration is surely no easy task.

I have studied extremely hard for over 5 years, received a diploma and am even currently studying for a degree in Nursing, but have still not received registration from AHPRA (Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency). I have gone through masses of stress and am in great debt due to my studies, but am still not able to find a career.

There are countless others like myself, another highly qualified nursing graduate still remains at her retail job because she struggles to find a career. The union says that each year about 8,000 Australian students graduate with a nursing qualification, but that there are around 3,000 nurses who cannot find work.

I have been told many times by AHPRA that I have to study a few more years in order to gain registration and when I manage to complete this study, they again tell me that it is not enough and that I must study more. Despite studying for over 5 years and landing myself in university debt and hex loans exceeding $50,000, I have again been told that I need to give an English Language Test, which will cost even more money.

Something must be done to stop this injustice. We are losing money, time and effort and we have own families to take care of. Please sign this petition to stand up for the rights of all and stop the nursing career from becoming an English language competition. This career involves caring for people, giving appropriate treatment to patients, and standing on your feet for 8 hours.

Thankyou.
