Protect Nevada's Wild Mustangs

Please sign this petition to Prevent the Auction and Domestication of Wild Horses, these creatures should be protected by the Wildlife Agencies and not disposed of by the Deaprtment of Agricultre or Bureau of Land Management.

Wild horses are being rounded up and sold to auction.  In these auctions the best case scenario is that a rescue groups has advance knowledge and raises enough funds to buy and relocate these majestic creatures.  The less desirable outcomes are domestication and slaughter.

Every time Wild Horse round ups come up there is a new excuse as to why they are happening.  The horses are to protect the horses from staving, being dehydrated during water shortages, the horses are depleting natural resources, they are a nuissance, they are a danger... the list goes on.

The number one problem is that despite the fact that there is evidence of wild horse ancestors in our lands before human existance, the claim is that the horses that live in the Western US states are not native wildlife but the same as cattle.  Imported by man, therefore products rather than wild species to be protected.  They call them estray horse on the NV Department of Agriculture's website, and most of the links on their webpage are broken.  So even though I'm trying to find out information, I'm having difficulty getting answers.

This is yet another case of political labels and marketing being used to thwart the efforts of environmental groups protecting natural native species so that the greed of land development can sprawl and destroy the natural beauty of this land.

If citizens were given the facts and asked to vote upon whether rounding up wild horses for auction/slaughter is something they wish their tax dollars being spent on the majority would say NAY!
