Like Jaried Frogosa i Do not wish to be counted towards this petition as i do not agree with the message it is trying to convey. I do not have strong religious views or persuasions but to say that one genre of music is exclusively damaging to the religious community is ridiculous. hip hop is a relativley new genre of music in relation to others and all this petition says is that you are afraid of change, the pastors and ministers you speak of who embrace hip hop are clearly a lot more progressive than you seem to be. as i said im not a christian as i am not of religious persuaison but i understand that spreading the message of your saviour is a crucial part of that, how can this be achieved if you refuse to acknowledge hip hops power and how it can be used to convey whatever message you like. by saying all hip hop is violent and degrading to women is extremly narrow minded, especially when you look at other genre's of music in the world today. i hope this post helps you realise what it is you are suppourting and if one person has there opinions changed it will be worth all this typing

all of you are ridiculous!! "It does not line up with the word of God."?! What you're doing now doesn't line up either! Instead of complaining and hating, you should show love and pray. "It's Noise" God didn't say to make joyful music (with only guitars, pianos and violins.) God said to make a joyful NOISE. It's true that secular Hip-Hop is degrading, negative and is horrible for our youth, but that's SECULAR hip-hop. There is Christian hip-hop. A couple of friends of mine are in a group called Brothers in Christ (BC) for short and their music is often far more praise worthy than songs I've seen in Hymnals. Before you remove a splinter from your brother's eyes, remove that plank that is in your own eye. Music is quite possibly the most powerful tool that we Christians have. It captivates the heart and opens the spirit to accept what it offers. In the bible it says that the praise and worships leaders are pretty much equal standing with the pastors and preachers. That being said, how do you expect to reach out to the youth of this world that are attracted to hip hop? give them choir music?! Christian Rock music? They won't listen to that, they'll listen to hip hop. SO! Instead of complaining about how hip hop in general is a horrible thing, maybe you should pray and support the hip hop artists that make their music in reverence of God and speak of love and healing. Besides, like i said earlier, secular hip hop is a horrible thing, but secular rock is just as bad, if not worse at times. Secular rock is what often inspires children to shoot up their schools. I don't see a petition for that! Stop hating and complaining. Start loving and praying. Examine your hearts before you examine the actions of others. I do not wish to sign this petition however ALL of you need to read this.

Who are we to say what God can do and can not do.God is all powerful he can use anything he wants to,their are no laws that govern God.We are so busy saying what is not of him when all along we are hendering his work.Our places of worship are nothing but buildings to God,we his people are his church.The hood does'nt know nothing about how church use to be or the old songs we use to sing.I believe we should sing songs of worship and praise in our churches but Holy Hip hop is a new witnessing tool to the lost that God will use to draw this generation.

before instruments and beat machine were used. god blessed us with just a set of lungs hands and feet. with which was sufficient to prays the lord. no people use pianos and guitars and even a harp all of these things are not what the lord needs for prays it is what we need. we should take every instrument out of prays and worship. and just use the lungs god gave us. the other day I heard a person prays the lord in a rap version it went like this." amazing grace how sweet the sound that saved a wrench like me" I could not believe my ears I just wanted to give the man a hand and praised the lord.

I feel each generation has had it's style of music. Even our traditional hymns were written with molodie's stolen from traverns. Yes I have heard a rap song that claimed to be christian and was not. And yes I have heard a so-called christain song of the 40 and 50 generation that was not/ youtube **** lacrae ****( don't waste your life) ***or take me as I am ) and see how many bible verses you can take away from this if you are over 50 years of age you might need a translater out youtube luke 12: 15-21 check it out

Hip-hop or rap for that matter cannot be attended in the church for various reasons. The youth today, surprisingly a lot, are taking this music to far! The same will happen in the church, and who know what the church will become of.

Hip hop is the abomination that this world has ever witnessed. The youth of this generation are confused in every way, having the "sense" of dressing or acting cool in order to fit in this worldly culture. But they are acting like fools, hip hop; like a viral airborne infection, has infected almost everyone I know, turning them into someone else, not themselves. I used to be confused in the past when listening to this garbage, that is after I saw what has happened to a few friends of mine, which I will not mention. Bringing this infection into the church will not only attract youths into calamity of themselves, but as an infection's role, which is to spread to others. The devil's plan for hip hop/rap is cunning, and I will not stand for this corruption, it has changed almost everyone I know into a pathetic clown. All this "music" is talk about apparels, clubs, sex, drugs, and drinking. Nonsense with a mix of retardation! The Church is to worship God! Bringing this genre to the church can cause serious damage to our youths.

i think hip hop is a sin but it gets to alot of young people's mind thinking that oh i need this ride and that amount money is going to make them happy and it's not i feel like you should just be happy with what God gave u in life now.

i think holy hip hop is good in the church because it sends a message to everybody me i use to listen to hip hop but i knew it wasn't good for me that christian rap is a good genre to listen to when ur down and out hip hop just causes alot of drama and don't respect God witout God rappers these days wouldn't have the extraordinary things . i listen to holy hip hop because it makes me happy that i gave my life to God even tho i'm a baptist.

Hip hop is certainly demonic! The impact of it isn't to make us worship God or acknowledge him. Instead it makes you think, talk, act and dress dirty. We are a holy nation, let maintain our identity and be proud of the Holy and Righteous God we serve. Another thing I notice about this music its makes you more aware of your outward appearance than the inward. Touch not the unclean thing!

I don't like hip-hop period. Christian hip-hop is one thing, but these artists, especially David Banner, should not be performing their "music" in God's house. This needs to be stopped. Church is a place of repentance and holiness, not a place for hooligans to degrade women and others.

I covered this in the previous statement, but if I wasn't clear, here it goes. I personally hate all hip-hop, whether it be holy or not. But the fact of the matter is, modern hip-hop should NOT be in churches, period.

The young minds are being altered by sex, drugs and violence and they turning all that is sacred into smut.There is no boundaries in the home for structured behaviour and they are taking this into every segment in society and the church is not immune to this infitration.Hollywood,the media and parents are to blame for this breakdown in society.It is time parents step up to be better parents to produce responsible and well-adjusted citizens into our society.

It promotes gangland culture into churches and Hip Hop definitely shows NO respect and reverence to spiritual things.Please render things holy to the house of God.Don't denigrate it with music of hatred and strife.
