Bring Back The "Hey" Song!

Following the 2007-2008 New York Islanders hockey season, the Islanders game day staff ended the fan favorite goal song, Rock and Roll Part 2 aka the %u201CHey%u201D song. Since then the game day staff has come up with several new goal songs that have come and gone with no avail. The old saying goes, why fix what isn%u2019t broken can be said for the decision to switch songs since a majority if not all fans enjoyed the old goal song. It is time the Islanders give the fans what they want and bring back the old goal song, the %u201CHey%u201D song. We the undersigned are a vocal majority among Islander fans who wish to see the old goal song, Rock and Roll Part 2 aka the %u201CHey%u201D song resurrected and played following Islanders goals this season and for every season here on out. Since the team ended playing the %u201CHey%u201D song after every Islanders goal and substituted it with new and less catchy songs, it seems as though a significant part of the game day experience is missing and we the fans would like it back. whether it%u2019s the legal issues surrounding the artist or any other reason, Many other organizations still feature this song during their games and there are dozens of covers of this particular song that could be played if you do not feel comfortable with the song%u2019s artist. In conclusion we the undersigned feel we deserve to have our voices heard and have a say in this issue. Rock and Roll Part 2 aka the %u201CHey%u201D song is a staple in every major sport and is a song we intertwine with Islanders games. It is something we miss and are asking the organization to please oblige the fan base and bring back the old goal song.
