Don't Judge One Dog Based On Its Breed - Breed Discrimination

Dear supporters,
Every dog can bite based on how they're raised and their past. Just because some people don't teach their dogs obedience toward other people or fails to restrain their dogs well enough doesn't mean a whole entire breed of dogs should be restricted from a majority of places that rent. My belief on this situation is that I think all dogs should wear a secure leash in public, landlords should allow tenants to set up a dog interview and have a portfolio of the tenants dog, also if the landlord determines that the dog could be an issue is to allow tenants to buy liability insurance on the dog. Discriminating a dog breed is like discrimination upon a entire race just because one person does something doesn't mean that entire race is bad. We have to comprise not get rid of. Most places that rent have a breed restriction list that they strictly go by excluding breeds like Pit Bulls, Akita, Alaskan Malamute, American Bulldogs, Chow, Dalmatian, Doberman, Dogo Argentino, German Shepherd, Husky, Presa Canario, Rottweiler and Staffordshire Terrier. Many owners that have these so called, "Aggressive Breeds" have a hard time finding a place to rent not just in Frederick, Maryland which is were I live, but mostly everywhere. Since these owners have such a hard time finding a place, people either move to another state if there really determined to keep their furry family member or send their dogs to the shelter. I don't think that should be the solution and neither do a lot of people such has these dog owners, people who love animals, people who are against discrimination, and hopefully more. Sincerely,
