I'm trying to fight against this countries ridiculous Breed Specific Legislation.
My dear girl Narlah was taken from me and is being held at Hawkesbury pound in New South Wales because they believe she is a 'Pit Bull'.
She has never hurt a member or the community or an animal. Because the council believe she is a banned breed, she has been taken away from me to be euthanised.
After getting through some pretty awful times I decided to get a dog to be my companion & best friend. Regardless of her breed, Narlah has been there for me unconditionally... she is my dearest friend. She is a great loving, fun and energetic dog who is loved by absolutely every person and dog she meets.
I spent almost all my time with Narlah, taking her everywhere with me. We would go for walks and runs together, we'd spend time at the beach and parks. She'd play with all the kids, always being gentle and respectful .
Narlah is a real lady.
So many people in my local community knew Narlah because she was always with me and not one person had a problem with her.
I want people to know what's happening to my family and I. I want people to be aware of the crazy breed law that has taken my beloved dog away from me.
I'm mourning the loss of my amazing Narlah. It is weighing heavily on my heart and my mind. This is one of the hardest times in my life.
Breed Specific Legislation is incredibly wrong and unfair!
I've lost my baby because of the way she looks, because of the actions done by others here and around the world.
Now my innocent girl is paying the price because of other selfish decisions made by animal abusers and irresponsible dog owners.
Since Breed Specific Legislation was implemented in Australia, it has only ever punished innocent dogs while the others continue to get away with giving the bully breeds a bad rap.
Narlah is proof that a bully breed dog can be a fun and friendly family pet. She is a true advocate for the breed and what Hawkesbury Pound is doing is completely wrong.
I hope those who have been influenced by the media and the actions of thugs see this and realise Breed Specific Legislation is wrong and does not make the community safer.
They have taken my family member away!
