Bring back the fair market Ebay!!!!

Ebay used to be a place of magical aura!  Sellers and buyers alike were happy with everything.  The fees were a little high but, the chance that a buyer got a deal or a seller ended up doing well in a sale were very high! The marketplace auction made us all feel secure and confident. We all knew that if we were to try scamming someone our feedback would be correctly reflected.  It was a two way street and fair as it could get! It worked for years and Ebay was made into a giant because every user on the site had faith and trusted it because it WAS FAIR for everyone!  Ebay was a genious! They had a great system in which each buyer and seller was able to correctly document their experience through the use of an EQUAL FEEDBACK SYSTEM.  If you were a bad buyer your feedback was a reflection of how you complied. On the other hand, if you were a bad seller and weren't living up to your word, your feedback also was a reflection of your action.  If you did wrong over and over, your account was righteously suspended and it WAS completely FAIR.  Ebay was a place to both buy and sell with confidence! So why fix such a great working system? Well, nobody really knows!! Hence, the old phrase, "If it aint broke, don't fix it!"

Over the last year, Ebay as many of us believe has made a HUGE mistake.  They have made it possible for a buyer to recieve an item without paying and then leave a negative feedback, thus leaving the most honest seller utterly powerless! Is this the way it should be? Many of the great, and most honarable sellers who made Ebay a winner in the early days are now leaving the auction giant to set up shop elsewhere.  These sellers have been burned many times by scam artist buyers who are able to abuse the new policy to their advantage over and over without consequence! This horrid reality is happening every day on Ebay! As a seller, I LOVED THE EARLY FEEDBACK RATING SYSTEM and if I made a mistake I was more than happy to recieve honest feedback!  My feedback was the honest to God reflection of my service, and I made strives to be the very best at customer service!   With the new system however, I can seriously admit that I expect the buyer to ruin my livelyhood and find a way to scam me.  I might as well send a return slip with each package as it seems that each time, I make a sale the buyer makes a stupid rediculous excuse just so they can get their money back.  It's almost as if Ebay has a stake in the postal industry because of all of this extra shipping going on now that the changes have been made to feedback.  Everyone has a horror story about a buyer or buyers!!!

I have decided to sell elsewhere as have many others.  We haven't closed our accounts because of the power that we have as buyers, but we sure don't dare selling anything valuable on there.  A great example of how a buyer can manipulate the system is the time when, I had a person buy a laptop that I sold as "good for parts".  The buyer recieved their package in less than a week, took what parts they needed and sent it back saying that it was not as described.  The only way I knew was by weighing the item.  It weighed almost 5 grams less when I weighed it the second time.  Wondering what happened, I took the laptop apart and saw that the motherboard and graphics chip had been removed.  To make things even worse for me, the buyer left a negative feedback. What a jerk! The event occurred after implementation of the new system in making it impossible for me to recoup any of my losses.  This type of behavior by buyers has caused me as a small scale seller to go broke! This website is a part of our livelyhood folks! This is what we call "buyer abuse!"  The sellers can do nothing about this type of dirty business!  We have no protection! The term "seller protection" is a joke and the term should not even be synonymous with Ebay, PayPal or any of the like! Seller protection does not exist as an option to help a seller and is false advertising! I would love to sell on Ebay and push money through Ebay and Paypal but, as a seller cannot trust buyers and have not way to compensate for the losses I've endured!  I urge everyone who is affected by these horror stories to write letters to Ebay and the Better Business Bureau to ask for their help if fixing these matters!

Writing on a behalf of all Ebayers we are requesting the switch back to the fair feedback system of old that made the Ebay system so successful! Anyone who agrees with this point of view is welcome and encouraged to sign this petition, so action can be taken to stop this fraudulent activity at once!
