Make Recycling a Mandatory Law for All

As you may be aware, the Earth's resources are being depleted at a rapid rate. Climate change IS REAL and it's being seriously downplayed.

Defra stats show London only recycle around 33.9% of it's household waste per year.
Sweden however, recycle or reuse 99% of their waste.

The new law would state that every household must recycle a bag of recycling at least once a week. Hackney Recycling Rewards scheme in one borough of London, already send ID cards to those involved, these could be used to track how much waste is recycled and therefore monitor each household.

Please sign this petition to make recycling a mandatory law by the government. We already have all the designs and technology we need to recycle, but some of us just need a little nudge. If the houses of parliament refuse to change the law or take more action on recycling and climate change, they should at least consider providing all London homes with the right recycling bags or caddies needed to decrease waste amounts. At the moment, one has to contact the local council in order to get these recycling tools.

Please sign to get this petition read by Meg Hillier, MP for Hackney, who can take this to parliament and discuss it with the other members!
