Allstate Insurance Past Retiree Benefits ARE NOT IN GOOD HANDS!

One of thousands, G. Galloway is a Allstate retiree. He worked 30 award winning years. When he retired in 1994 he was given, in writing, a list of benefits he would receive. One of these benefits was a Life Insurance Policy that would be "with no further contributions from you." This was a promise given in writing from the GOOD
HANDS to those who helped build their company.
Now these retirees have been informed by Allstate that their Life Policies have been sold to Minnesota Life. This information was given to G. Galloway in a phone conversation with Jim De Vires. ( Mr. Galloway called to get clarification concerning this upcoming change) Mr. De Vires identified himself Vice President of Human Resources.
Allstate retirees can keep the life insurance policies in place BY NOW PAYING $10.80 per each $1,000 value of the policy. Beginning JANUARY 2016 they will have to pay for a promised, no cost benefit, or have no coverage. This is wrong!
For a policy of $100,000 that is $1080 monthly or $12,960. annually !!! These are retirees in their 70's upward, on fixed incomes.
This attempt by Allstate to renege on retirees promised life insurance benefits will put the retirees in the position of not being able to afford life insurance due to their age. These life insurance policies were a way to provide financial security for there loved ones. This is being RIPPED out from under them.
While there is a Class Action Law Suit (Turner VS Allstate), the reality is it very likely will take YEARS to resolve in the courts. Allstate Company Legal Department is fully aware of this fact. It is in their favor.
We need to get the word out concerning the way Allstate conducts business!!!!! If this is how they honor their word to their own retirees, HOW CAN WE TRUST ALLSTATE?
Please HELP. Time is running out! Sign this petition, SHARE this petition, Make it a topic of conversation, and then refuse to purchase from Allstate. If you already have Allstate you might consider changing insurance companies. Let our signatures and reduced bottom line speak loudly. This is the only way to a timely resolution!

Allstate Insurance Company,

We, the undersigned, petition Allstate Insurance to honor promises made to retirees concerning life insurance benefits. We ask an IMMEDIATE review of recent changes to the life insurance benefits promised retirees

Based on your unethical treatment of retirees we have little trust in your ability to deal ethically with consumers. As consumers we can, and will chose to switch insurance companies, not purchase your products, and to continue to bring attention to this issue.

A person's character is judged not what he does in public but what he does in private. The same is true for a corporation.

Update #18 years ago
Thank you for your signatures! We now have 98 signatures. Please take a minute to network with your contacts. If we could get each of the signers to reach out to 10 people, then those people reach out to 10....so forth, soon we would have all the needed signatures. Again THANK YOU for taking a stand for ethical treatment of Allstate Retirees.
