THE BANNING OF “LOUD BANG” FIREWORKS/FIREWORKS WITH HIGH PITCHED NOISES IN SOUTH AFRICA

Every year without fail, a few weeks before Diwali and on the festival of Diwali, New Years Eve & Guy Fawkes,a large number of pets are found stray, injured,traumatized or dead.
This is due to them fleeing from the lond bangs and the irresponsible use of fireworks by in-sensitive "human-beings"
Their hearing is 7 times greater than that of humans, so imagine how they feel when these loud bangs are sent off.
ITS ABOUT TIME THAT OUR GOVERNMENT PUTS A STOP TO THE IMPORTING OF THESE "EXPLOSIVES!" PEOPLE NEED TO EDUCATE OR MAKE THEMSELVES MORE KNOWLEDEABLE ABOUT FIREWORKS. IS THERE A NEED TO CREATE 'DARKNESS OVER LIGHT'?

Yes we know that you might be thinking that fireworks are burst for Diwali because Hindu’s said so but we have done our research  just to make sure and no where does it state in the BHAGAVAD GITA or the RAMAYANA that when LORD RAMA & SITA arrived people burst fireworks because fireworks never existed then but however in India currently people burst fireworks because the smoke kills insects during the rainy season  but that does not mean to say South Africa should do the same thing and according to the explosives act of 1953 fireworks are not to be sold to anyone under the age of 16 yet  there are many shops that go against this law.

Yes there are medication or tranquilizers that calm these precious creatures but not all the time it works on certain breeds and 80% of the time this results to animals escaping their boundaries trying to run after these fireworks and sometimes they get killed or injured terribly  and what’s even worse is that you get some selfish hooligans in this country that burst fireworks on an animals and this is absolutely wrong. It has happened in the past and for many of the years various veterinary clinics, animal shelters and the SPCA and pet owners have being trying to tell the government about these issues but they are to damn inconsiderate just like some people and pet owners.

As they say ”Hindu’s are the most thoughtful people”

And please do not say that animals have no life or their life is worthless and stuff like that because remember we human beings are a form of animals and we belong to a thing called evolution in which we have evolved for apes and baboons and monkeys. So if you are going to say that then technically you are also speaking about yourself.

So this petition appeals to you all…Whether you are a pet owner or not you should think about this from our perspective. Animals especially dogs and cats can hear 7 times clearer and louder than human beings so please try and understand…And believe me if we all work together this will be the last year South Africa will ever be bursting fireworks.
