Stop Killing Marine Life With Sonar

Sonar technology used in naval exercises and underwater oil/natural gas drilling causes severe damage to marine life. Call on governments around the world to ban these practices.
We, the undersigned, call on you to stop using sonar in naval exercises and underwater prospecting.

A new study conducted by the Technical University of Catalonia in Barcelona, Spain confirmed that sustained exposure to noise can severely damage squid and other marine invertebrates. There is also evidence that sonar deafens whales and dolphins, causing the creatures to become disoriented and beached.

We ask you to work with marine biologists to determine what, if any, level of sonar exposure is safe for animals and develop appropriate restrictions and safeguards.
