If Walmart would just pay $13.50 per hour instead of $8.50 per hour (for most hourly workers), they would only have to raise prices in their stores a mere 1.4 percent! This will still preserve the obscenely high corporate profits and CEO pay, BUT 'rank and file hourly workers' could live a much better life and will need Medicaid and Food Stamps much less than they do now. This will save the taxpayers billions in subsidities from the stingy, unfair and exploitive pay the majority of Walmart employees earn. Alternatively, Walmart could simply raise the pay of all employees and corporate profits might "suffer" one percent. Actually workers will have more to spend...in Walmart, come to think of it so profits might actually increase!
