I have been running a Family Day Care for the last four years, I filed a petition with the City of Petersburg for an increase in my children capacity and they want me to put my dogs outside from 6:30 a.m. - 12:00 midnight. My Pit weighs 80 pounds, she's 9 years old and loves to sleep. My Dachshund, he weighs 12 pounds, stays cold and sleeps. They are house dogs, never had a problem, my children and parents love my dogs. I have no shade or trees on that side of the house at ALL. I have to put them in a 6" feet pen away from the children. I've purchased a pen, but the weather permits them from using it. They will not allow me to bring them inside under any circumstances.......Bad Weather, Hot, Cold, Snowing, Hailing, Lighting, Thundering, Raining, etc. . NOT AT ALL! I am a retired Educator from Petersburg City Public Schools, worked 30 years with and for Children. I have touched 14 children since I started my Passion.......Child Care Provider.
