This slaughterhouse should respect international rules of OIE !

Investigators of COMPASSION IN WORLD FARMING (CIWF) recently filmed in the public slaughterhouse of Beirut. What they saw there is horrific - scenes from hell. The anmimals are treated in a horrific way. This house of horrors violated almost all rules that are set by OIE, the worldorganisation for the health and welbeing of animals. From countries like France, Czechia and Spain (where animals are protected by law) sheep and cows are transported alive to this house of horrors in Libanon and there they die in a terrible way.

The animals are treated in a brute way: they are pulled by their legs,  their fur and in their EYESOCKETS.

  * The staff scream at them and beat them.
  * The floor is besmeared with blood, poo and bodyparts.
  * The terrified animals slip away and fall with their heads on the concrete floor.

* Scheep are being forced to jump over all the  other dead animals.

* Bulls are hung on one leg, for a long time, while being conscious.

Every year THOUSANDS of animals from all over the world are being slaughtered in this slaughterhouse in Beirut. Every day animals are exposed to STRESS, PAIN and FEAR. CIWF has made a complaint and demanded that this slaughterhouse should SHUT THEIR DOORS !!

The training of the staff of the slaughterhouse should be improved and the slaughterhouse should adapt a much better/higher standard. The international rules of OIE should be respected. Only then it can open again.

Dear Sir,

Investigators of COMPASSION IN WORLD FARMING (CIWF) recently filmed in the public slaughterhouse of Beirut. Staff of this slaughterhouse should get an education to bring it to a higher standard.  International Rules of OIE should be respected.

I sincerely hope that Members of the board will take action and support this report.

Yours truly,

on behalf of all the petitioners, worldwide, of Care 2.
