Fluffy's Law in Manitoba

Tenants and Landlords will benefit from a Province wide policy that treats all Manitobans the same regardless if they own pets.

Research shows that renters who have pets are more socially connected to have better health, less depression, highter levels of fitness.

By allowing seniors and others to keep their pets leads to better health outcomes and less strain on organizations like the Winnipeg Humane Society.

The Province of Ontario has had legislation which ends discriminatin against pet owners, and this has been in place successfuly since June of 1998.

We pay enormous prices for rent in apartments that keep the companies in business, we are  responsible and raise children, have employment. We are responsible enough to care for a pet either dog or cat.

We petition the Legislative Assembly of Maniotba as follows:

To ensure the landlords cannot discriminate against pet owners purely based on the fact that they have pets.

That any provision in a tenancy agreement prohibiiting the presence of animals in or about a residential complex should be void.
