The foothill yellow-legged frog has vanished from over half of its historical range.
The tiny, 1.5 to 3-inch-long creatures are known for their bright yellow legs and dwell in streams from the Willamette River basin in Oregon south to the San Gabriel River in Los Angeles County, California, and the lower western slopes of the Sierra Nevada mountains. Their populations have declined due to logging and mining threats, climate change, pollution, invasive predators, disease, traffic and more.
In July 2012, the Center for Biological Diversity petitioned the United States Fish and Wildlife Service (FWS) for Endangered Species Protections, but the FWS remains undecided on the frogs' status.
These native, beneficial frogs deserve protection from the numerous threats that have been causing their populations to decline! Please sign the petition to urge FWS to grant endangered species protections for the foothill yellow-legged frog!

I am concerned about the fate of the foothill yellow-legged frog, and your delay in deciding whether to grant it protections under the Endangered Species Act.
