Free Sochi's Orchas'

Orcha Wales are intelligent social beings and separation from their pod can be detrimental to their health. For example every documented Orcha in captivity has developed behavioural issues which have resulted in the deaths of many trainers. additionally these animals lives are cut short due to physiological depression. Orcha wales are officially members of the dolphin family and therefore capture from the wild should be illegal.

Russia seem to be pulling every bad welfare issue out of the hat and they are part of the European committee. They should know better. Revolutionary scientists arise from Russia along with top athletes and more. Why is the treatment of animals likened to that of a developing country.

We have all seen Free Willy. This film was developed with the cost benefit analysis in mind regarding animal welfare and animal awareness. The general consensus was that to put the animal through discomfort was worth it to bring general awareness of these magnificent creatures and their turmoil. We know in the end Free Willy is set free and rejoined his pod. This is based on truth and has been proven to be possible with Orcha Wales, although any short duration on captivity has been linked to chronic health problems and early death (though longer and happier than keeping them for our own pleasure).

If you want to see these brilliant animals: a boat trip where they are commensal is possible and much more fulfilling and can help to contribute to their protection.

All the signs point to it being a truly bad idea to enclose these animals. From danger to ourselves to danger for them and our Eco-systems. I am asking all animal lovers (or anyone who has respect for intelligence and grace) to sign this petition to free Sochis Orchas and prevent this in the future.
