DEMAND A DIGITAL TIP JAR FOR AMAZON WAREHOUSE WORKERS

In order to make an immediate difference in the weekly paychecks of Amazon's warehouse workers, we demand that Amazon add a Digital Tip Jar to their checkout basket which would allow customers to tip the warehouse workers fulfilling their orders. Recent attempts to raise wages for Amazon Warehouse workers have failed or resulted in confusion. A recent wage increase to $15 was accompanied by the termination of bonus pay. In the short term, the conflict between corporations and their workers will not be resolved. While activists and politicians attempt to tackle these challenges, Amazon's workers will continue to suffer. In the short term, a digital tip jar will increase the compensation of Amazon workers. Ideally, Amazon could give each worker an ID of some kind and tie that ID directly to a particular order, so that a customer's tip could go directly to the worker that fulfilled their order. If this is too complex, than perhaps Amazon could simply allow customers to offer a general tip to the warehouse facility that ships their items. The tip could be split by all of the warehouse workers of that particular facility. If items ship from multiple factories, they can simply split the tip among all of those facilities. The sheer number of orders, compounded by tips from numerous customers, should lift paychecks substantially for the warehouse workers. This solution does not require Amazon to compromise it's margins but it immediately helps workers that don't have any margins in their take home pay. This solution does not require complex political issues to be resolved nor does it attempt to address those issues. This solution is simply an attempt to make an immediate impact on the earnings of Amazon's workers and hopefully improve the upcoming holiday season.
