Recall Georgia Governor Brian Kemp over Policies that have increased the Covid-19 infection rate by a factor of 15 in Georgia since May

Georgia is one the states that permits citizens to recall its elected officials by vote. Official Code of Georgia § 21-4-4 (2019). https://law.justia.com/codes/georgia/2017/title-21/chapter-4/

The grounds for recall in Georgia include malfeasance, misconduct, and failure to perform duties prescribed by law. Let's assume that Governor Brian Kemp, the chief elected executive of Georgia, is required by law to preserve and protect the health, safety, and welfare of his state's residents. Since Governor Brian Kemp prematurely reopened the state to business in May 2020, COVID-19 cases have increased in Georgia by a factor of fifteen. This Governor's policies - including barring mayors from mandating mask-wearing in their municipalities, and then suing one of them, Atlanta Mayor Keisha Bottoms, for challenging him - seem almost designed to further drive up infection and death, all to protect people's supposed "rights" to get haircuts and tattoos, and freedom from the tyranny of face covering regimes. Those are not rights, however. Instead, the Fourteenth Amendment of the U.S. Constitution says that Americans have the right TO LIFE. #recallkemp

Gov. Kemp's inexplicable anti-mask policies, and his premature reopening of businesses in Georgia sound to me like malfeasance and maybe also a failure to perform duties. The entire Southeast U.S. is now experiencing a COVID-19 spike because, in my opinion, those states are adjacent to Georgia and Florida, two states run by governors more beholden to making President Trump appear to be a competent manager of this crisis than they are beholden to their own citizens' lives. #recallkemp

This is affecting my life now. On July 25, 2020, my good friend's cousin lost his wife to Covid-19 in Augusta, Georgia, during childbirth. https://www.wrdw.com/2020/08/06/she-was-a-good-mother-a-perfect-mother-husband-loses-wife-to-covid-19-sees-the-pain-of-the-pandemic/ That is, the baby lived and she died – all for the "right" of some people in Georgia to get tattoos and haircuts sooner rather than later. #recallkemp

And no – I don't live in Georgia. I live in another Southern state in which COVID-19 rates had been declining. I want it to stay that way - by getting Kemp gone. So I need your help - especially you Georgians. This could have been over now if not for elected officials like Georgia Governor Brian Kemp. PLEASE GET HIM OUT. PLEASE ELECT SOMEONE ELSE. #recallkemp
