Let our dogs on the beach this summer!

Currently dogs are banned from walking on ANY part of the beach from the start of the beach in Old Leigh all the way to the other end in Shoeburyness including Chalkwell, Westcliff-on-Sea and Thorpe bay between May 1st and 30th Sept.

I do not think that it is fair that dog owners are not allowed to enjoy their local beach with their dogs for this entire time.

I do agree that having dogs and a high volume of people on the beach at the same time is not a good idea.

My suggestion is that dogs are allowed on any part of the beach between the hours of 9pm and 9am. It is unlikely that families will be on the beach at this time.

In addition I suggest that dogs are allowed on a small section of beach at any time of day. Families with dogs as well as dog walkers can both enjoy this section of beach through out the summer.

My suggested section of beach can be seen on the "Let our dogs on the beach this sumer" Facebook page
