Officially name the Doty recital hall the "Alan Case Recital Hall"

Alan Case gave so much to so many people, and will be remembered dearly by all who knew him. His legacy will live on in the countless people he touched and many generations of students he influenced.

Let's make sure there's a lasting symbol of his legacy on Geneseo's campus as well.

Upon hearing of the passing of Alan Case, Geneseo students, alumni, and community members had a lot to say:

"Alan was an incredible person, as well as one of the best musicians and teachers that I have ever known." "He was such an amazing musician and taught so many of us so much about the world of musical theater. Geneseo will absolutely miss him." "Your patience and talent as a vocal coach and teacher will never be forgotten. You went above and beyond for your students." "Geneseo and the artistic community as a whole lost an incomparable talent and person." "An excellent teacher, an ever attentive ear, and, most of all, a great friend."

Seeing as it is the new and future home of numerous recitals, performances, and Music Department events - and houses a fantastic piano which Alan took great care of and pride in - naming the new recital space in Doty Hall in Alan's honor would be a very fitting tribute to his legacy. In doing so, Geneseo will honor all that he has given to the campus over his extensive tenure, and ensure his legacy lives on.
