About 3yrs ago the State of Ky took 4 of my grandchildren from my
daughter-in-law at this time her and my son had already seperated.
He then did something stupid and got charged with a felony and got
6yrs do 3. During this time KY gave my daughter-in- law almost 2 1/2
yrs to get the kids back and she failed, also during this time I
tried to get them, I live in Indiana. I went to foster parenting
classes, CPR and First Aid, even got a background check, when it
came time for the home study of my home, it didnt pass because I
didnt have the required space for 4 children. also they found an
educational neglect report on me, one I didnt even know about, let
me explain...my daughter was 15 turning 16 and I was homeschooling
her through the state of Indiana, well I had to leave Indiana to go
to Chicago to take care of my mom. It was only gonna be for about a
month. In that time I left my daughter in Indiana in the care of my
best friend,(she had kids the same age) well someone reported to the
welfare that they saw my daughter during school hours and that she
wasnt in school but that they had heard she was being home schooled,
so by the time the welfare got around to coming to my friends house
and checking it out, I had come back, got my daughter and moved in
with my mom, and they never contacted me at my moms. Now because of
that I couldnt get a foster care license. so I tried to see how I
could prove my innocense but they said there was nothing I could do
and that when my daughter turns 23 it automaticly gets erased off my
record, she wont turn 23 till this December. my son being
incarcerated and his wife lost their parental rights in April of
this year. He gets out next month. I often search
Adoption.com looking for my grandchildren in KY. Never no luck, then at 3:00 this
morning I woke up and for some reason went to that site, and found
the oldest of the 4, Amber 9 is up for adoption. Now my question
is....Is there anything me or my son can do to maybe adopt her or
get her back somehow. I dont have alot of money to pay for a lawyer
but I know someone that is willing to help me fundraise to get the
moeny if need be. Can you give me any suggestions. I need someone to
talk to. When I clicked on the song that was with my granddaughters
