A Call To Action to Enact Solutions for Homelessness

Let me elaborate on a thought: Today we can make a difference in our lives and for the lives of future populations that will reap the rewards or suffer through the consequences of the work we do here today. So let's get it right today. Tomorrow is depending on us. With great advances in technology and communications, more than ever before, in this time and place, we are able to make positive change happen that will affect the lives of many in fractions of time.
This Call to Action proposes that the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services take the lead on rethinking the current solutions being applied to the homeless problem. That HHS expand its vision of solutions (current ones are not enough) for the homeless problem; and develop, disseminate and utilize toolkits and blueprints to strengthen program, policies, and mission for outreach, enrollment, and service delivery. That HHS distribute formula block grants to states to establish programs that serve the homeless to improve the provision of services in the areas of Personal development services, mental health services, rehabilitation services, employment services, housing services, Adult and early childhood to k-12 educational services, substance abuse services, medical and dental care.
That HHS act immediately and partner with existing agencies in a well-timed and well-orchestrated collaborative effort to deliver the big ideas and big solutions for maximum impact to vulnerable persons of the homeless population. In 2009, 4 million people found themselves living in poverty. Each night about 2-3 million individuals experience a night of homelessness. That is not acceptable. That HHS recognize the complexities of the homeless issue and treat them with their corresponding solutions. That HHS and related agencies realize that action cannot stagnate on the homeless issue and that maximum action must be delivered swiftly to bring the problem to an end.
HHS and related agencies are encouraged to 1.) Provide for nondiscriminatory aide to homeless clients and the elimination of eligibility paperwork in their administrative protocols. 2.) Work with governors, county officials, mayors, and related agencies on the issue. 3.) Develop, disseminate and utilize format toolkits and blueprints to strengthen program impact. 4.) Empower state and community partners to improve their response to individuals and families experiencing homelessness.

The Situation:
The problem with current solutions dispensed by major players in today’s world of politics and N.P.O.’s is that they are not able to keep up with the multiplying social, economic, and healthcare problems that manifest themselves currently in society. These problems are like a virus, they mutate and proliferate themselves in fractions of time. That is why many people silently agree that they are ineffective.
The Solution:
What is needed is a BOLD Holistic plan, (borrowing from the strategies utilized in sales like link selling and add-on selling ; and set within a limited short timeframe that accomplishes the goal of solving the world's problem. That is a big feat. It's like asking the President and all his men to invent the Universe.
The Pep Talk:
It can be done. Let’s limit problems and create short time frames to immediately eliminate problems. Let’s prolong good health and good times rather than create sporadic and uncertain times; opt for long periods of economic growth and wealth rather than short and stifled growth spurts; and opt for normal anatomical growth rates rather than shortened and dwarved anatomical growth rates.
