A woman was found guilty of animal cruelty after she admitted to tying her pet husky's mouth shut.
The husky (name unknown) was brought to HSHV (Humane Society of Huron Valley), where they announced that he was badly wounded, had severe deep burns and was starving and severely underweight
After putting him on a regular feeding schedule, the husky gained 8 pounds in 8 days.
"Upon examination it was also found that the dog had been microchipped during a previous visit to HSHV, where it had been brought in as a stray dog once before. The chip led the investigators right to its owner."
The dog was in such a bad condition that he had to be kept at HSHV for an entire 216 days. The owner said the burns on the husky "just showed up one day." She also said that she had put a muzzle on the dog to stop him irritating the wounds and burns, but when she realised it wasn't working, she tied his mouth shut with twine, rendering him unable to eat.
The owner of the dog, Crystal Smith, is receiving 12-24 months probation, and might receive a jail sentence. Please sign this petition to guarantee that Crystal Smith goes to jail. A crime this great deserves a great punishment.
Dear Honorable Judge Charles Pope,
I ask you to consider a guaranteed jail sentence for the owner of the abused husky, who had his mouth tied shut. I think that a person who commits a crime this great deserves to be punished even more.
I started a petition to convince you to send Crystal Smith to jail, and sentence her for an appropriate amount of time. I collected 1227 signatures worldwide to ask for a longer sentence for this terrible abuser, and for justice for this poor dog. We would all really appreciate it if Crystal Smith was really punished for the terrible scribe she has committed.
