Open Letter to the General and Jurisdictional Delegates of the California Nevada Conference

To the General & Jurisdictional Conference delegates of the California-Nevada Conference,

We, the undersigned, lay and clergy persons of the California-Nevada Annual Conference Session write to express our gratitude to each of you for your willingness to serve as our delegates to the upcoming General and Jurisdictional gatherings. We know that this service will exact a cost from each of you; physically, mentally, emotionally, and spiritually. Given that, we offer ongoing prayers of resiliency and fortitude as you go about this important work on behalf of us all.

We also offer our prayers for your guidance and discernment as you strive to act with faithfulness and integrity relative to all of the matters before you in the work of General and Jurisdictional Conferences. We, the undersigned, are not of one mind on any number of issues that will be before you. We will not presume to define what your good and faithful work should look like. What we do ask, is that you strive to remain truly open to the work of the Holy Spirit throughout your service, resisting the temptation to predetermine how God will, or will not, seek to move.

In addition, we deeply hope that you will find ways to continue the legacy of good faith collaboration with our brothers and sisters of the Western Jurisdiction, as you simultaneously seek opportunities to do the same with others throughout our global connection.
