Tell Chris Christie: Don't Use Our Tax Dollars for Your Campaign Travels!

New Jersey governor Chris Christie says we can't pay for unemployed citizens' SNAP benefits, but he may be using over $1 million of taxpayers' dollars to support his own campaign expenses.

Christie's spokesman and state police won't comment on who is footing the bill for the security detail he used while on his 261-day campaign travels outside of New Jersey last year, or whether his security officers receive overtime. Christie travels with at least four officers, each of whom receives high base salaries. One of his former troopers earned almost $90,000 per year, plus benefits.

As a New Jersey citizen, I am outraged that my tax dollars may be financing a campaign I don't support, when they could be put to better use funding our public schools and feeding the hungry. Please sign the petition to urge Chris Christie to be transparent about who is funding his campaign travels!

We, the undersigned, are concerned that you may be using over $1 million of taxpayers' dollars to support his own campaign expenses.

Your spokesman and state police won't comment on who is footing the bill for the security detail you used while on your 261-day campaign travels outside of New Jersey last year, or whether your security officers receive overtime. We understand that you travel with at least four officers, each of whom receives high base salaries.

Many New Jersey citizens are outraged that their tax dollars may be financing a political campaign when they could be funding public schools and feeding the hungry. We urge you to be transparent about who is funding your campaign travels. Thank you for taking the time to read and consider our petition.
