Prevent another senseless death. Make Knysna Road safer!

On Friday 2 June 2017, 21 year old Caroline van der Merwe lost her life in yet another accident in Knysna Road. There have been numerous accidents at the intersection of Knysna Road and Sweetpea Street leading to Levallia and the road is a notorious playground for speeders. With increased development in the area and an adjacent park frequented by young children who often cross Knysna, this road has started carrying more traffic than can safely be negotiated by cars or pedestrians given the configuration of the current intersection and the prevailing speed limit. The speed limit must be reduced to 60km per hour, permanent speed cameras must be installed where they will actually save lives and not just make a quick buck and a solution must be found to improve safety at the intersection of Knysna and Sweetpea. Something must be done before another innocent young life is lost!
