Health Care for Ireland's Poor

To show the Government of Ireland that the poor health service to the people of Ireland is unacceptable.
This practise of poor health care extends to our elder citizens, who have paid taxes all their lives and now cannot have proper health care.

We would please ask you for an improvement in the Irish Health Service. Ireland poor have the right to a health care service that reflexes the status of Ireland in world rankings.

There are many industrial disputes in the health service, which potentially places vulnerable patients at risk.

The taxpayer deserves better value in what the State must spend on their behalf on the provision of medicines under State schemes, particularly in the current economic climate, and most people would support the thrust of the Government's policy in this area.

Playing hard-ball may be impressive, but if the patient safety issue becomes very real, such a stance will in hindsight appear futile.

The patient safety consequences arising from the withdrawal of such a basic health service as the supply of medicines are inescapable.

Patient safety must be everybody's concern and it should not be used as an industrial relations football any longer.
