Critical Plea by Physicians to Halt the Bloodshed in Gaza

I am writing this letter to urge President of the United States of America on behalf of all physicians in the USA, calling for an immediate ceasefire to halt the humanitarian crisis in Gaza.

Regardless of our backgrounds or our religious beliefs, all physicians share a single mission: alleviating suffering. As physicians, we have an obligation to protect human dignity and are compelled to take a stand and advocate for the young children, the elderly, and the innocent civilians.

As physicians, we unanimously uphold the following fundamental principles:

  1. It is morally repugnant to harm children of any background or beliefs, and we condemn such actions unequivocally.
  2. Bombing densely populating areas, hospitals and schools, cannot be justified as self-defense. These actions are fundamentally wrong and must cease immediately.

We deeply mourn the devastating assault on Israeli civilians that occurred on October 7th, and we stand in unwavering solidarity with them. Simultaneously, we wholeheartedly condemn the Israeli government's retaliatory actions. We vehemently condemn the unjust collective punishment imposed on innocent lives in Gaza. We all bear witness to the relentless bombardment and unrelenting genocide, ruthlessly targeting healthcare facilities, ambulances, schools, churches, refugee camps, and densely populated areas. This onslaught erases generations of innocent civilians in a heartbeat. Such an overwhelming deluge of suffering is unparalleled in the annals of modern history.

The entire healthcare system in GAZA has been destroyed, and this fact has been painfully apparent in the media. The wanton destruction of homes, hospitals, and the inhumane blockade of essential necessities, including water, electricity, hygiene, and medical aid, imposed upon the innocent civilians in Gaza constitute egregious war crimes that demand immediate cessation. As a physician, we refuse to turn a blind eye to this ongoing humanitarian crisis, where millions are forcibly displaced and deprived of the most basic necessities for survival.

Majority of the world is now against this genocide.  The world will never forget this brutal period in history, marked by widespread suffering and enduring hardship. This is an avalanche of human sufferings, that's 100% man made. It's the worst humanitarian catastrophe we all are witnessing in the modern era. Its burning through the hearts of every single person that we know in our profession. This must cease immediately.  It signifies a grave blemish on our shared humanity and a blatant violation of our solemn ethical duties as physicians, as we steadfastly uphold the most rigorous standards of care and compassion. As physicians fervently dedicated to healing and the sanctity of life, we resoundingly and unequivocally condemn the ongoing genocide in Gaza. The loss of innocent lives and the relentless suffering inflicted upon the people demand immediate attention and action

We implore President Biden to put an end to the indiscriminate bombardment and instigate an immediate ceasefire—The US government must play a vital role to bring the peace and prosperity to the world .
