11 week old kitten named Pedro has been rescued after Howard, who's a nurse in the Humber River Hospital’s emergency department pulled over just prior to the Gardiner Expressway. She was going south on 427 and noticed something that was thrown out of a moving car. She was devastated to find the kitten who was screaming from pain and was covered in blood. She immediately bolted for the Toronto Humane Society on River St. The kitten had among other injuries all his back paw toes broken, but is expected to make a full recovery. Mandi Howard says she will be adopting Pedro. The vet bill is expected to be nearly 2000$. The suspect is still at large.
