Make Animal Abuse Illegal in China

I am on a truck.

I have been stolen from my loving owner.

I have been stuffed into a tiny cage with thirty others. I cannot move. I will be in this cage for hours or days with no food or water.

When I reach my destination, the cage will be thrown onto the ground from the truck. I am weak, in pain, starving and terrified.

I am thrust from the cage by one of my broken limbs. If I am lucky, I am slowly throttled with a cable. Or stabbed. Or beaten.

Then my meat is used for human consumption.

If I am not so lucky, I am skinned alive for my fur. I will not die immediately after. I might stay alive for hours, traumatised, and in unimaginable agony.

I am one of over 15 MILLION dogs slaughtered each year in China - a country that lacks any animal welfare legislation.

Much like the 4 million cats used each year for meat, most of whom are cooked alive for the "better taste", and the 10,000 bears kept in bile farms, I will not get justice. Nobody will be punished for what happens to me.

Until China puts a law in place that protects its millions of animals from abduction, torture, abuse and slaughter, these horrific industries will not stop.

Animal welfare legislation has been drafted – see details here http://www.animalsasia.org/index.php?UID=G6D86OKV2Z8 – but the Chinese government will not put it in place as they believe that they should concentrate their efforts on human welfare.

By signing this petition, you are making the Chinese government aware of that fact that the happiness of people is very much dependent on the happiness of animals.

Give animals a voice.
