Girl Bully's dog while driving

The efforts of compassionate Care2 readers have helped changed the course of an animal cruelty prosecution.

Ashlyne Marie Havard of Labelle Texas posted a video( watch video here: https://vimeo.com/83617096 ) on Microsoft’s Vine showing what appeared to be her running over a dog with her car while screaming obscenities at the dog.  She then posted it publicly for others to see.  Accelerating when a dog is running in your path could lead to serious injury or death for the canine.  This kind of behavior will not be tolerated, or, should it be laughed as a joke on social media.

Let Ashlyne and others like her know this is not a laughing matter animal cruelty is a punishable crime with consequences.

If you‘d like to encourage authorities in Labelle to charge Ashlyne Marie Havard under the state‘s animal cruelty provision, sign this petition. Care2 will see that it is delivered to Jefferson County animal/livestock officials, who are responsible for investigating and/or charging for crimes in the jurisdiction where this incident occurred.

We must understand that even without leash laws, animals must be protected. The actions of the the driver were dangerous on many levels. If you have dogs chasing your car - contact the proper authorities. Don't make a movie, then post the dangerous situation on social media.  There is also the responsibility of the dog owners to keep their animals from harms way and causing potential danger to others.
