The public LOVES wild and domestic horses. Sketchy Pro-Slaughter lobbyists want to use public tax dollars to fund horse slaughter inspections so horse slaughter meat plants can open again in the USA. We demand that the United States Congress DEFUND horse slaughter inspections and ban using American's tax dollars to pay for meat inspectors at horse slaughter plants. American tax dollars should not be used to fund the cruel horse slaughter industry--butchering American horses for delicacy meat exported to foreign countries! Numerous videos have exposed the intense cruelty when slaughterhouses kill and butcher horses. Besides being our pets, domestic horses are filled with drugs forbidden for human consumption. This is also a food safety and public health issue.
The National Association of Counties (NACo) seems to have a vendetta against the American Mustang. It appears certain County Commissioners and other elected officials in the West have been spreading fake news about wild horses and lobbying in the United States Congress to kill and slaughter America's icons of freedom.
Why? Besides scapegoating wild horses for public land range damage caused by privately owned cattle and sheep, they want to get rid of America's wild horses that they view as a roadblock to riches. They want to cash in on the extractive industry --build tar sands mines, frack for oil as well as Liquid Natural Gas (LNG), and extract other resources which would poison pristine water and ruin the environment, as seen in Josh Fox's documentaries GASLAND I and II.
Right now enemies of America's voiceless wild horses want to sway the Appropriations Committee in Congress to use the public's hard earned tax dollars to fund meat inspectors for horse slaughter houses in America. This is an outrage!
According to the National Academy of Sciences, there is no evidence of overpopulation of federally protected wild horses. Slaughtering American Mustangs is outrageous! The majority of the public LOVES them and wants them protected. Do not forget America's wild horses are this country's symbols of freedom. What elected official wants to destroy that?
We ask you to defund horse slaughter meat inspection in the United States of America now.
