An advocacy group in the Colorado area went undercover and discovered the abuse of newborn calves. A very disturbing video by the nonprofit group, Compassion over Killing took the video discreetly at the Quanah Cattle Company in Kersey, Colorado. In the disturbing video, workers were depicted kicking the young animals and dragging them by the ears, legs and tails -- treatment that the U.S. Department of Agriculture explicitly prohibits, though this kind of facility is not regulated by the USDA. Dead calves were also noted in the video.
An advocate for Compassion Over Killing made some statements, say; "Just days old, many of these calves -- some of whom still have their umbilical cords hanging from their bodies -- are too feeble or frightened to walk steadily. The footage of the video shows, in the process of being moved on and off trucks, these fragile animals are violently dragged by their legs, pulled by their ears, lifted by their tails, kicked, thrown, slammed, and flipped. Be aware that this video is rather disturbing and the horrendous treatment of these babies is definitely abuse. http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2013/11/14/undercover-video-alleges-_n_4275001.html
The handling of these sweet, young animals is so horrifying and currently under investigation. We have to take a stand against these beasts so that they are punished for their actions. The United States Department of Agriculture needs to get involved and shut down facilities like this. This type of rough handling these animals is not acceptable!

United States Department of Agriculture – Kersey, Colorado Law Enforcement – Please ensure that this facility and others like it are closed immediately and the operators/workers that are abusing the animals be accountable. These people need to be placed in jail and punished to the full extent of the law. These animals do not deserve the cruelty and abuse they are under! Please protect those without a voice and stop these people!!
