This is Eve,she was seven months old and blind.Our group rescued this little girl as soon as we could and got her to a Foster Home that fought valiantly for Eve.She had been spayed by the shelter shortly before being rescued. When her foster mom got her home and out of the carrier she discovered that little Eve could not walk.She was suffering from malnutrition and was skin and bones,even her muscles had whithered away. Her foster Mom did everything she could think of to help get her to eat and drink.She had to use a syringe.Eve started to slowly get better,started eating on her own a few bites of Kitten food.Despite all the care and loving Eve went into respiratory arrest.she was rushed to the Emergency Animal Clinic where she was found to have dehydration,severe malnutrition,pneumonia and Toxoplasmosis.She was put on Antibiotics and was transferred to another ER Clinic to be put in an Oxygen Cage.Sadly Sweet Eve didn't have the strength to pull through.She passed gently to The Rainbow Bridge January 3,2010

We the undersigned,would like an investigation to be performed at the Okefenokee Humane Society (Ga.).We feel the shelter is not caring for their animals properly.Our group rescued blind seven month old kitten who was suffering and sucommed to,Severe Malnutrition,Dehydration,Pneumonia and Toxiplasmosis.The Foster Mom spent over $1000.00 trying to get her well to no avail.Wefeel she should NOT have been adopted out or being spayed in that deplorable condition.
