The annual outdoor adult lap swim program gives adults the chance to take to the water for health and fitness without interruption from other swimmers. This service is provided in most of the City's outdoor public schools. It is not provided in Highbridge Park Pool. Highbridge Park Pool is a fantastic Olympic sized facility that should be open to the public who wish to swim without interuption. The Adult Lap Swim program is offered in most parts of the city, but the Washington Heights and Inwood Residents are not given this service despite the availability of one of the best pools in the city. Please sign this petition to bring the Adult Lap Swim Program to our neighborhood.

We write to the Citywide Aquatics Department petitioning for the opening of Highbrdige Park pool to the Adult Lap Swim Program. The Adult Lap Swim Program is a great rescource available in the outdoor pools across New York City throughout the summer. However, the parks department has not run the service in Highbridge Park, which holds one of the best public pools in the city. This is rather unfair to the people of Uptown Manhattan, particularly Washington Heights and Inwood.
There is more than enough interest in the this program to make it worth while for the Parks Department and we request that the Uptown Community be given this service which the rest of the city enjoys.
