Justice For Alexis Faith Williams

On June 17th 2016 Alexis Faith Williams( 13 years old) was at our local park when a 16 year old girl provoked a fight with her. A 17 year old jumped in on the fight and both girls were punching and kicking Alexis repeatedly. Several kids stood by and watch as they took videos of it to share on social networks! Finally a few started yelling at the 16 and 17 year olds to stop because Alexis was having an asthma attack. The girls continued to hit Lexi until they were physically drug off of her. Alexis was then taken to the Shelbyville Memorial Hospital by friends, but was not takin there fast enough as Alexis arrived without a pulse. The nurses and doctors worked on her to save her, but her life was taken. Her life was taken to soon and by the hands and actions of the 16 and 17 year old girl who thought it was " cool" to be bullies. The autopsy found that Alexis had suffered severe cerebral edema which can cause respiritory attacks. Cerebel Edema is fluid built up on the brain do to head trauma like punches and kicks to her head. During the coroner inquest not once did they mention the Cerebral Edema. They only talked about her asthma and as if this was a minor fight with hair pulling and scratches. Text messages were reecovered along with videos of the fight showing punches, hearing the fighting and the text of the girls bragging about what they did and how they found it funny that they " beat her a** till she died" With all the statements, text messages and vidoes our states attorney has drug her feet for months. Acting if she has done everything she could she has just now made charges. The charges consist of maybe a year or so of probation. We know no matter what nothing will bring our sweet Alexis back, but what those bullies did is unjustified and they should be punished. These girls are older and bigger then Alexis. Alexis was only 5'4 wieghing 110 pounds. The 17 yr old had began to harrass the family and run Alexis's friends off from the cemetery when they would visit Alexis. July 4th the 17 year old even shot bottle rockets off as she drove by Alexis's friends as they were walking to the cemetery to watch the fireworks with Alexis. These girls find no remorse in what they have done that even through the court hearing for the order of protection the 17 year old would sit there and giggle!! After the third court date for order of protection it was a new judge on the case and he dismissed the OP! It seems as if our system here continues to fail us right when we think we are beginning to find justice for Alexis. We are asking that you sign this petition and help us show our system the impact this tragedy has left on all the people. This is not something that should stay quite and swept under the rug like Shelbyville Law Authorities are trying to do. Please help us share Alexis's story, please help us get justice for Alexis and please help us stand against bullies and show other bully victims that there is always hope and to never give up!
