Justin Bieber had his 14 week-old capuchin monkey confiscated and put in quarantine by aiport authorties in Munich, Germany, on a flight from Los Angeles, California when his private jet landed. The infant monkey was given to Bieber as a birthday gift.
Expert scientists and veterinarians agree; that the 14-week-old animal shouldn’t have been taken away from its mother until it was a year old. Dr Ros Clubb, senior scientist for the RSPCA, said, "When deprived of their mother and kept alone rather than in the family groups they belong in, many self-harm, become aggressive and suffer many problems later in life. Primates kept as pets can develop crippling cases of metabolic bone disease due to a lack of vitamin D they would normally get from a healthy diet and the sun. Dr Clubb also said it would be "totally unacceptable" if media reports alleging the monkey was taken from its mother a very young age and kept on its own were true.
In 2011, Bieber bought a baby boa constictor to the MTV Video Music Awards which he had planned to action off. Following a concert in Atlanta in December, he handed his pet hamster to a random fan.
Tell Justin Bieber, animals are not concert props; this is not respect for animals, it is exploitation. If he is truly an animal lover, he should educte himself about the horrors of the wildlife pet trade- and stop encouraging fans to purchase wild animals. There are plenty of adoptable domestic animals waiting for rescue in shelters.
