What a sad day for Adua. What is the real reason for this? To knock down this famous and historic school to replace it with a few shops? Is that all? What is really the point the authorities of Adwa are to say? Are they that short sighted? I hope this petition makes them change their mind.

My parents,my uncles and aunts and most of my other relatives went to this school and I will be saddened to see my parent's childhood memories getting destroyed for no reason. Please don't demolish this site. This is a historic landmark and something I would love to take my grandchildren there one day and tell them that their grandparents went there. Anyways the main point I am writing this is because I do NOT want to see this building getting teared down cause this school means a lot to a lot of people around the world. Please,Please don't demolish it!

Please don't demolish Queen Sheba Elementary School. It's better to repair the building rather than destroying it.

My parents went to this school and they loved it and it is a piece of history and was open for almost a century. If there is a problem it is better to fix it rather than demolishing and building a shopping center. This school should be declared a National Landmark. DO NOT DEMOLISH!!!!!

I don't believe this historical landmark will be destroyed by its own people. It could be that there is financial shortage to renovate the school. Understandable. But we can help. We are working with TDA trying to construct new schools so kids don't have to walk far and here kids near Queen Sheba Elementary School are doomed to walk even further? This is ensane. Please don't destroy our history.

Folks around the world have given the following descriptive adjectives about Queen Sheba Elementary School: historical, landmark, heritage, old School, prestigious, significant, famous, extraordinary, memorable, fountain of knowledge, foundation of its children and so on. All these adjectives are sending powerful messages, concerns and advices to Officials in Adwa. Please give it a second thought. If the school is destroyed to replace it with plaza or some kind of commercial units, the decision is not going to be a popular one. Remember for the next generation, this historic school will mean a lot. Also the school will be an added value for the planed future truism industry in and around Adwa. Some countries protect their historic buildings as “Heritage” buildings. Others preserve their historic buildings by hiring architects and engineers to come with a design that keep its originality and as the same time use it as some sort of money generating entity (Museum, Library etc)

What kind of madness is this? Don't they know about renovating old buildings and expanding this historic school, adding a university next to it, so that more students can come and turn Adua into a University town instead of demolishing it? What is the problem? Please stop this madness.

I am a friend of a concerned Ethiopian who works with me. He asked me to sign the petition and told me the issue. I wonder why you people must knock down your own history to build a few shops. You should preserve your history. That is the onlly thing going for Ethiopia.

Once they destroy it will be too late. What are the people of Adua waiting for? Why don't they ask the Adua people at home and abroad before they make such a drastic move.

NIGESTE SABA is one of Ethiopia ’s historic elementary school and it should remain as such. More importantly, the public should get an opportunity of a comment prior to acting on such a regrettable and an irreversible action.
