Please don't throw the dog out on the streets

Calling out to all the dog lovers, to all animal lovers, to all of those who are compassionate, to all of those who care (even if just a little), to all those merciful, to all human beings...

As it has come to light lately, there has been a stray dog roaming around the American University in Cairo's New Cairo campus. The dog has decided to take shelter on campus and enjoy the company of students as well as their kindness.
Many students testify to this dog's love and plain cuteness.
And so far, not one student has come forth to say that the dog has:
1) Snarled
2) Growled
3) Barked
at them while they were going about their usual day. The dog has NOT shown any signs of aggressiveness to date.

Students who were injured have said that they got the injuries while running away immediately after seeing the dog, they have also said that the dog started chasing them after they started running.

A simple google search of why dogs like to chase moving objects will show you that it is in their nature, it is instinctive, for them to chase things, and it is in no way a display of aggression.

I am sure many of us encounter dogs in the streets and I am sure we notice the dogs tend to run AWAY from us than towards us.

Let us stop the unjustified animal abuse, stop throwing out an innocent creature that committed no crime.
Throwing this animal back on the streets will only cause more harm to the animal and it will not stop it or others from entering campus again.

Of course we support anyone who is willing to adopt the dog.
Other suggestions to dealing with this situation is for the university or a volunteer to take the animal to a vet and perform a checkup. Make sure the dog is completely safe and vaccinate it.
This is much more sustainable than throwing the dog out on the streets again.

To all those who will counter with the fear of dogs argument:
The safest way for you to deal with this situation is to simply stay away from the animal.
If it comes close, just ignore it.
DO NOT run.
A lot of people are afraid of cats, but no one is asking for them to be thrown out.
A lot of people are afraid of bees, but no one is going around killing them
A lot of people are afraid of wasps, but no one is going around destroying their nests (which are found all around campus)
A lot of people are afraid of animals, but we are all going to campus and enjoying the company of each other.
We are all afraid of something, and what do we do? Avoid it. Just because it's a little bigger than a cat, does not make it more dangerous.
