Maximum Penalty for Woman Who Strangled Dog

  • by: bonne stewart
  • recipient: La Crosse County District Attorney Tim Gruenke

In La Crosse Wisconsin, on November 14th, Selina Boulton broke into her boyfriend's house and strangled his thirteen year old basset hound, Jixer, to death with a choke collar. The reason given is that the boyfriend would not let her in the house.

Boulton will have her initial court appearance on December 18th. Please sign this petition asking the La Crosse County District Attorney to charge her with "mistreatment of an animal leading to death". In Wisconsin this is a Class E felony which carries a penalty of up to fifteen years in jail time, and up to 50,000 dollars in fines. We are asking the D.A. to pursue the maximum penalty for this cruel killing of an innocent animal.

Dear Mr. Gruenke,

Thank you for taking the time to review this petition.

We, the signers, are very disturbed by the cruel and violent strangulation of a helpless dog by Selina Boulton. We respectfully request that she be charged with mistreatment of an animal leading to death, and that you pursue the maximum penalty. This will send a message that pet killings are not tolerated in La Crosse.

No dog should have to suffer the agony of being choked to death. We would like to see justice done for Jixer and for his owner.  In addition, it's well known that people who abuse animals are more likely to abuse humans. We would like to see the killer of Jixer incarcerated, so that at least for a time, she won't be able to hurt anyone else.

Once again, thank you for your attention to our petition, and good luck with this case.
