We would like to urge the Puerto Galera Local Government to sign an ordinance creating the first Shark Sanctuary in the Philippines. This will give sharks a fighting chance to grow in numbers and will also create a new tourist attraction in the area

• Stop all catching of sharks in municipal waters
• Support a Shark Conservation Awareness Program to educate tourists and residents of the importance of these beautiful animals to the eco-system
• Ban the sale of shark meat, oil, teeth, fins and jaws throughout the municipality

• Publicise the Shark Sanctuary both nationally and internationally so as to create awareness of Puerto Galera's special role in marine conservation
