Every day more than 10,000 healthy, young pets are euthanized, gassed, or even heartsticked in our country. This needs to stop. Saint Frances of Assisi said that animals were our "brothers and sisters." What gives anyone the right to take the gift of life away from them that God has given to them just as he has to us. Gahndi said, " You can tell the greatness of a nation by the way it treats it's animals." If that is the case do you still believe we live in a great nation? I think we have much room for improvement. There needs to be more government, state, and local funding put into thee shelters to accomadate the growing need for our animal brothers and sisters in this country and we need it now.
Shelters all over the USA are still using inhumane ways to put down these animals such as: heart sticking and gassing. The time is now to put an end to these cruel practices and find a reasonable and humane solution to our animal population problem. Strickter spay/neuter laws, better education about animal phychology and the proper treatment of animals, and more police presence in stopping cruelty to animals and dogfighting operations. We have a flawed animal care system in this country. We need to speak up for our furry brothers and sisters now! Thank you for all you do for human and animal kind! Bless you! Educate the ignorant at every teachable moment you find, donate to your local shelters, spay/nueter all your animals, and please get the word out that we could and can be a NO KILL NATION!
