Have you heard about the recent train derailment in West Virginia? Thankfully, no one died, and only one person was injured. 19 train cars crashed into each other and caught fire, and oil leaked into the Kanawha River. The train was carrying crude oil.
Except CRUDE OIL DOES NOT BURN unless under extreme temperatures and pressures. In addition to that, the smoke seen rising from the flaming wreckage was a dark, deep black. Oil, in any form, DOES NOT BURN BLACK. Oil typically burns a light blue. So how did train cars supposedly carrying crude oil derail and practically explode?
What was that train actually shipping? And why did CSX claim it was crude oil?
More importantly, how many other "crude oil" train shipping accidents weren't actually crude oil? What are these trains actually shipping?
