Save Our School Programs-Prince William

  • by: Laura Feld
  • recipient: Prince William County School Board

Due to potential county-wide budget cuts, critical educational programs for Prince William students are in danger. From JROTC to Elementary Strings, from Elementary Foreign Languages to Special Education Assistants, from Robotics to Extracurricular Athletics, our students' futures are at stake. These programs are crucial for self-expression, development of critical thinking skills, and the fulfillment of their potential as future adults.

Your support is essential and time critical--you must be heard no later than March 4, 2015, by signing this petition, and contacting your local Prince William School Board member and Member of the Board of County Supervisors.

Take action NOW to make a real difference in the lives of our young people!

Dear Prince William County School Board Members,

This petition is signed by concerned PW parents and Citizens who support all the programs that PWCS offers our students.  We feel the following programs are important to the success of our students as well as our County and should not be cut by the budget ax.  We know you have difficult decisions but ES strings, JROTC, ES Foreign Language, Robotics. Special Ed assistants, and extracurricular activities and atheletics, to name a few are IMPORTANT in the development of our students.  These programs are crucial for self-expression, development of critical thinking and problem solving skills, and the fulfillment of their potential as future adults and potential workforce and leaders of Prince William County.

Thank you for caring about the children of Prince William County.

A group of concerned parents and community members.

Update #19 years ago
Thanks. Lori Williams held up our petition at School Board meeting and THANKED us for communicating. (See PWCS TV) Betty Covington sent a similar message! BOCS advertised a top limit of 3.88% but final vote could be lower. School Board is faced with tough decisions. At best the budget is still $8+ million short. Programs will face cuts. Your signatures and presence at both County and School Board meetings has made a difference. PLEASE CONTINUE to ADVOCATE. Laura
