Demand Reasonable Regulation of Laser Tattoo Removal Services

Laser tattoo removal is something that has no laws or rules regulating the business in the state of Florida. The only legislation is that which says only Physicians, Medical Doctors, or Registered Nurses can fire a laser except in laser hair removal where an electrologist with state approved laser training can perform treatments. The state approved laser training is 320 hours of classes, passing a state exam, 2 continuing education credits every 2 years, and a high school graduate or equivalent.

Why can someone perform laser hair removal with less training but not remove tattoos? As it currently stands there are 29 states that require only an off-site director that lives in the community in which the business he is director for operates, 15 states require that a doctor be present to supervise at the time of the treatment, and only 6 states in which only medically licensed personnel can perform the task. Florida is one of those 6 states. This enables a monopoly for the people controlling the industry, the medically licensed themselves, so that they can continue to charge unreasonable prices for tattoo removal. There are many schools across the country that have a course of study that is approve by 44 of our 50 states as sufficient to enable a person to perform laser tattoo removal. In a country such as ours, it is the majority vote that is supposed to win. In a state such as Florida, where many of us are retired and sport many tattoos that we would like to remove, laser tattoo removal service by tattoo artists with a medical director offer an affordable option for us to get our tattoos removed, and to add a thriving, and growing business to our state. The medical field is growing and changing every day. It is time for Florida to catch up with our sister States and nurture a growing business that could prove lucrative for our up and coming generations.
