HELP STOP! The senseless banning of PITBULLS

I live in a community that bans Pitbulls and only pitbulls that is the only dog that they do not allow. I live in Highland MI, in a Mobile home park Named Highland Greens Estates. They claim they do not discrimminate and are a family community. Instead of getting to know my dog and give him a chance they just say no. My dog is a very well behaved, and well mannered dog. He has never bit anyone or even tried to be aggressive in anyway. They are uneducated on this breed and only go by all the media hype that they are dangerous. This is horrible I have never had a better dog in my life and now they are telling me to get rid of him this is disgraceful and disgusting behavior. They say that cats are not allowed here but they do not evict you if you have one. This IS discrimmination and this is not exceptable in anyway I may not be able to stop what is happening to me but I will make sure this does not happen to anyone else PLEASE if you have any kind of a heart sign this petition and help educate those that are ignorant and uneducated. Lets make it so no place can have the right to say your breed of dog is not allowed.

I had pitbulls all my life I never had a problem. when my last dog died of cancer I got a cockerspaniel stupid thing bit me shoulder and still in pain 2 years later. Thing is on pits is how you raise them . Yes If they bite they can lock there jaw but that is there defnese ( they never use it) Unless u train them that way. Another thing is do we kill humans or discrimanate on killers and rapists. No cause society lets them still get jobs and live a normal life. Pits are beautfil and the best pet to have.

Pit Bulls are an amazing, lovable, loyal, and caring breed. It is fully on the owner! My pit is sweet and is great with kids and other dogs. It makes me angry that the solution people come up with is to ban a breed that used to be the AMERICAN DOG back in the day. Stop this madness!!!

Pitbulls are not the problem, it is the owners who don't have the knowledge or skills to give these dogs prober training, love and care.. Pitbulls can be just as loving and loyal as any other dog. However not everyone is mature or responcible enough to handle these dogs and some people even train them to become agressive..

I own 2 pitbulls. My oldest, Rebel, is 4 years old and was adopted from a local shelter. Diesel is 11 months. We bought him when he was 5 weeks old. They are the most loving pets I have ever owned. I think its ridiculous that they are discrminated against. ANY dog can be trained to be mean. As a matter of fact, the ONLY dog I have ever been bitten by was a Pomeranian! Pitbulls are not born "mean", they are trained to be by irresponsible owners. GIVE PITBULLS A CHANCE AND YOU WILL SEE THAT THEY ARE THE MOST LOYAL, LOVING, AND FAITHFUL PETS YOU WILL EVER OWN. |

Many ppl are ignorant about the American pit bull! My Daughter has a 2 yr old & 9 yr old child and has 2 pit bulls and 2 dobbies and they are the most loyal dogs a person could have! Although pitbulls have the stereotype to be ill-mannered, aggressive and dangerous dogs, they aren't the only ones who are, and not every single pitbull acts the way some dogs do. I believe it's the fault of the owners that make animals snap, not the dog's genetics. Pet discrimination is wrong, I don't care who you are. |

There are lots of cities that ban pit bulls in city limits. This has gone on for many years. I understand your frustration. Yes, it is very unfair that pits aren't allowed at your trailer park. So, if you possibly can, I would move where I could keep my dog. I know that's easier said than done. Still keep the petition going, and you might could sue the owners of the trailer park for being discriminatory. Showing them pictures of different breeds of dogs and ask them which ones are pit bulls. There is a site on the internet that is aimed towards just that. Can you guess which dog is a pit bull? There are about 30 dogs on there and only one is a pit bull. Maybe if you open there eyes, they will drop their restrictions. Good luck in your fight! Owner of 9 pit bulls.

Just the fact that they were once so popular w/all American children, should speak volumes in their defense. NO DOG BREED is vicious, unless trained that way! Release this dog breed NOW from the wrongful stigma that has been attached, and let them reclaim their right to be included in loving homes!

I have worked in thr pet industry for 6 years and have never once had a problem with a pit bull or any other "bully breed" for that matter. It is the owners that train these dogs to be aggresive that need to be banned not the dogs that dont know any better!
