Stop Dolphin Slaughter in Taiji, Japan

Dolphin Slaughter is a very serious issue that needs to be stopped, with your help.
One problem involved in killing and selling dolphin meat is that it contains numerous amounts of mercury.  The average amount of mercury a normal male should have in his system is 2.55 ppm. Fifty men were tested in Taiji, Japan, and their average mercury consumption was 21.6 ppm. This is almost 10 times more than the average amount. The average intake of mercury for normal women in Japan is 1.43 ppm. In Taiji, fifty women were tested and they came to 11.9 ppm as an average. This is a very important issue because it shows dolphin meat is getting out and consumed. If too much dolphin meat is consumed, it may kill a person.
Dolphin meat is very bad for anyone to consume. Many people in Japan know that, and so do the fishermen who are killing these dolphins. Knowing this, the fishermen sell the meat in a different manner. They label most dolphin meat as whale meat. This hides that the meat is dolphin and more people will buy it. When people buy this dolphin labeled whale meat, they do not know that it is dolphin, therefore are at risk in getting very ill and hurt from it.

Walking away from the cove, you can see that something horrible took place there. The water is the color of deep red blood and has a smell of metal. The shore line has many ripped parts of dolphin and whale tissue on it. This brings about another environmental issue. The water is contaminated in blood of animals that have an amount of mercury that is deadly. This cause more fish and mammals to have high amounts of mercury which we cannot eat, therefore assuaging our food supply from the ocean.  Dolphin slaughter is a very important issue that needs to be taken care of. When it is ended, less people will die and more will be able to eat. This will help the humans and ocean animals. This is Dolphin Slaughter in Taiji, Japan.

Dear Japanese Government and Barak Obama,

We, the undersigned, feel that Dophin Slaughter is a very serious issue that needs to be stopped.
The world has very many environmental issues going on at this moment. They are dangerous to wildlife and humans as well. One very harmful and important issue that needs to be stopped is dolphin slaughter. Every year on September 1st, in Taiji, Japan, a group of fishermen go out on the waters and set up an awful trap to capture the dolphins and whales.

One problem involved in killing and selling dolphin meat is that it contains numerous amounts of mercury.  The average amount of mercury a normal male should have in his system is 2.55 ppm. When people buy this dolphin labeled whale meat, they do not know that it is dolphin, therefore are at risk in getting very ill and hurt from it. Dolphin meat can affect a person in many ways. A common one is death.  But dolphin meat does not always kill. It hurts you in different forms. Dolphin meat can cause nerve damage and lead to the Minamata disease, which is mercury poisoning .
We need your help to stop this awful act before we lose some of the smartest, most beautiful creatures, dolphins. Dolphin slaughter is a very important issue that needs to be taken care of. If we stop this problem now, we can avoid further damage later. This will help the humans and ocean animals.
Thank you for taking the time to read this letter. I hope you consider to take part in this act of saving the people of Japan and the dolphins.
