STOP ABUSE OF GAITED HORSES

We need to unite against the abusive "traditional" training of many gaited horses, in an era when kind horse-training methods are widely accepted and endorsed by experts. Few countries allow these barbaric methods, which can include 24/7 lock-down ( sometimes in complete darkness and intense heat and with fatal consequences), tendon cutting, soring and punitive training methods.
The USA, Canada and South Africa all allow these horrors. Please join the care2 Group ALOHA (Animal Lovers Opposed to Horse Abuse) .
We, the undersigned, are concerned at the ongoing abuse of many gaited horses. "Traditional" training methods and management practises are out-dated, barbaric and rightfully banned in many countries.
Animal training and management practices which require coercion, punishment, surgery and long term restraint have no place in civilised nations in the 21st century.
The horse is one of mankind's oldest animal allies and has served us in war and peace and in our building of civilisations for over 4000 years. Our willing partner should NOT be treated as a slave!
We appeal to the legislators of the United States, Canada and the Republic of South Africa to ban these practices in the name of humanity.
We appeal to the A.S.P.C.A, the H.S.U.S. and all Animal Welfares and Animal Lovers world-wide to use all peaceful and legal means at their disposal, to end the ongoing abomination against this noble and gracious species.
We thank you for the time taken to hear the concerns that we voice.
