Bring Back Spicy Breakfast to Chick fil A

    To Whom It May Concern:

For the past 7 years, my wife and I have been devoted Chick fil A customers, enjoying your various chicken creations at least 3 times a week. One of the things I would look forward to on my morning commute was stopping by to get Chick fil A breakfast, which in my opinion was your best menu. Don’t get me wrong, I love the lunch/dinner meals, but there is just something about starting your day with a great quality breakfast that makes the entire week bearable.
Over the past year or so, my favorite items on the Chick fil A breakfast menu have slowly started to dissolve. I still remember going to my local Edmond, Oklahoma store on a Monday morning eager to order my spicy chicken breakfast burrito meal with hash browns and a large vanilla iced coffee. What I heard back over the intercom would pierce me deep inside, “I’m sorry sir, we have discontinued our spicy chicken for breakfast.” I thought it was some kind of cruel joke. The only response I could muster up in a defeated, cracked voice was “no…” Not only had I lost my all-time favorite, the spicy chicken breakfast burrito, but my second favorite, the spicy chicken biscuit with pepper jack cheese, was dead as well.
The frequency of my visits began to decline over the past 6-7 months, I just couldn’t get the same joy without the spicy chicken breakfast items. As time went on, I learned to accept the regular breakfast burrito, fighting my way through the disappointment with a couple extra packets of the jalapeño salsa to spice things up a bit. At least I still could enjoy the fresh fire-roasted onions and veggies that I had always loved. At least Chick fil A didn’t take that away from me. That was until my most recent visit; Wednesday, August 23rd 2017. The last visit I will ever make.
While recovering from a small outpatient procedure 5 days prior, I thought maybe some Chick fil A breakfast might cheer me up, after being stuck on the couch for 120 hours with bags of frozen peas in my lap. I reluctantly requested the standard, non-spicy breakfast burrito with 2 packets of jalapeño salsa, hash browns and a small vanilla iced coffee. When my meal was delivered to me, I unwrapped the burrito, loaded the end with delicious jalapeño salsa and took a big bite. Only, something was different, and not in a good way. Where were my fire-roasted onions and peppers? Gone. Replaced by hash browns. Yes, replaced by the same item that comes as a side to any breakfast meal. Plain ole hash browns.
I expect this kind of pure laziness from Sonic or McDonalds, but not Chick fil A. I’m not certain if this was a cost cutting measure, taking away a great ingredient and replacing it with something else you already had laying around the restaurant, or if it was a poor attempt at improving the product that had previously been diminished with the retirement of spicy chicken. You might as well just stop serving breakfast altogether if this is what we, the consumers, can expect. Just a real lack of creativity. I’m very disappointed. I couldn’t even eat the hash brown filled tortilla, with a side of hash browns. I threw it all in the trash.
Consider this my resignation as a Chick fil A customer. Thanks for the memories. Hopefully you can make a triumphant return, but without spicy chicken for breakfast, or fire-roasted onions and peppers, I don’t see that happening.

P.S. I could write another 600 words on the discontinuation of your spicy chicken nuggets, but I don’t think I even need to go into how disappointing that discovery was for me. Do the right thing.
